The Norlok Watson Medium Duty (MDWA) is a portable clinching machine from Norlok Technology Inc. of Brantford, Ontario. Its air/oil system generates hydraulic power from standard shop air, so the hand tool works in any position — on the bench, on the job site or overhead — forming a Clinchlok joint with no rivets, bolts, fasteners, heat or adhesives, no fumes, and little or no damage to painted or galvanized finishes.

The single steel C-frame is trigger operated, with an air-over-oil intensifier included and a single-shot pressure-sensing return. The fast-change punch and replaceable punch stripper keep changeovers quick, and the MDWA insert-style lower tooling is adjustable.

• Hand tool weight: 21 lb (9.5 kg); intensifier 16 in. wide; total length 16 in., height 18 in., weight 47 lb (21 kg)
• Cycle rate: 20 cycles per minute standard; 20–30 cycles per minute with modified stroke
• Air: 70 psi minimum / 125 psi maximum / 100 psi recommended, approx. 0.8 cu. ft. per cycle
• Upper tooling: fast-change punch, replaceable punch stripper; lower tooling: MDWA insert style, adjustable
